This genetic line of seahorses originates from South Florida. These Captive Bred seahorses are approximate 4-6 months old. You can expect them to reach 5-7+ inches with maturity. These are captive bred and raised from another farm and have been held at our farm before offered for sale. They are smaller then the juvenile seahorses we have raised and offered in the past but they are doing great and look nice. Our larger species production is currently on hold and we do not have an update on when we will have those species available again at this time.
This is the most common seahorse species hobbyist start out with. They are very hardy and great beginner seahorses!
Breeding: This species typically produces 50-500+ fry. Males are pregnant for 14-21 days. Fry typically hitch from day one. Newly hatched Artemia (brine shrimp) can be used as a first food for fry.
These captive bred seahorses are very healthy, active, friendly and full of personality. These seahorses are trained to eat frozen Mysis shrimp from a young age. We recommend feeding them Hikari BioPure Mysis shrimp 2-3 times daily. Seahorses are very social animals. They do best when kept paired or in a group.
Please see our Seahorse Info page to learn more about the care of our seahorses.
