Captive Bred-Yellow Assessor

Size: ~1-2+ inches. This species reaches ~2-2.5+ inches with maturity.

We are excited to offer Yellow Assessors. This strikingly colorful Assessor species enjoys swimming in the open and around the rock work in the aquarium. They are fascinating fish that exhibit unusual behavior. In nature, as well as in the reef tank, they can often be found swimming upside down. This is an adaptation used in their habitat where they’re usually found in caves or under ledges. Creating a similar habitat in the aquarium will allow them to exhibit this unique swimming behavior. They only reach ~2-2.5 inches. These are in the same family as Marine Bettas, Plesiopidae. They are native to Australia.

These captive fish are trained to eat small pellets such as PE pellets, TDO XS pellets, frozen Mysis shrimp, Calanus, and more. 

We recommend housing only one of this species in the same tank. They are peaceful fish and friendly to keep with our captive bred seahorses. These fish are very hardy.
