Aquarium Conditioned-Yellow Goatfish

Aquarium Conditioned Yellow Goatfish-Parupeneus cyclostoma. 

Size: 2.5-4 inches. They will reach up to 8-10 inches with maturity.

Yellow Goatfish are a unique fish species and are best known for being excellent sand sifters. These specific specimens are from Africa. These goatfish will also eat small pellets such as PE pellets, TDO pellets, frozen Mysis shrimp, Calanus, and more. We recommend feeding them often such as 2-3 times daily. These goatfish have a high metabolism, so a well established sandbed is recommended! 

Our Aquarium Conditioned fish are quarantined and observed at our aquaculture facility before offered for sale. We prophylactically deworm all our fish as well as run an anti-parasitic treatment on all of our fish.  

We recommend housing this species singly, paired or in a group. If kept as a pair or group it is best to add them to the aquarium at the same time. This is a great fish for people not keeping seahorses. They are considered a reef safe species meaning they do not typically go after invertebrates and corals.
