Aquarium Conditioned-Blue-spotted Jawfish

Aquarium Conditioned-Blue-spotted Jawfish, Opistognathus rosenblatii.

We are excited to offer Blue-spotted Jawfish. These beautiful brightly colored fish display very interesting behavior in the home aquarium. They like to create a burrow in the sand near rocks and will stay close to their burrow. This is a great species if you are looking for something unique and different. They have great personality! They are mouth breeders and the male will carry the eggs in his mouth. We are feeding them a variety of TDO pellets, PE Pellets, frozen Mysis shrimp, frozen Calanus, LRS frozen nano blend and a variety of other foods at our farm. A sand-bed is a must with this species and they are very jumpy so a cover over your aquarium is a must when housing these.

Our Aquarium Conditioned fish are quarantined and observed at our aquaculture facility before offered for sale. We prophylactically deworm all our fish as well as run an anti-parasitic treatment on all of our fish.  

Size: ~3-4 inches. They will reach up to ~3-4+ inches with maturity.

These are jumpy! Make sure your aquarium is covered!

We recommend housing this species singly or as a bonded pair. They are peaceful fish and friendly to keep with our captive bred seahorses.
