Aquarium Conditioned-Chocolate Tang (Adult Color Phase)

Aquarium Conditioned-Chocolate Tang also known as Yellow Mimic Tang adult color phase, Acanthurus pyroferus.

Size: ~4-4.5+ inches. They will reach up to ~5-6+ inches with maturity.

We are excited to offer Chocolate Tangs. This is the adult phase. Juveniles are bright yellow and the adult phase displays hues of gold, orange, and darker "chocolately" colors throughout the body. This is a great algae grazer to help keep nuisance algae in check in the aquarium. We are feeding them a variety of prepared foods including frozen Mysis shrimp, Nori, LRS frozen Fish frenzy blend, and a variety of other foods at our farm. This is a very hardy tang species and easy to keep with proper care.

Our Aquarium Conditioned fish are quarantined and observed at our aquaculture facility before offered for sale. We prophylactically deworm all our fish as well as run an anti-parasitic treatment on all of our fish.  

This is a reef safe saltwater fish species. They are generally pretty peaceful but can show aggression towards other tang species and possibly other fish tank mates. We recommend only housing one of this species in the aquarium as they are typically aggression towards their own species. A larger and long aquarium for plenty of swimming space is recommended. We recommend at least a 125 gallon or larger aquarium for this tang species. We do not recommend keeping tangs with any seahorse species for those customers keeping seahorses.
