Aquarium Conditioned-Yellow Wrasse

Aquarium Conditioned-Yellow Wrasse, Halichoeres chrysus.

Size: ~2-2.5 inches. They will reach up to ~2.5-4+ inches with maturity

We are excited to offer Yellow Wrasses. These bright colored wrasses are a hardy species and very peaceful. They are considered reef-safe wrasse species. It is important to keep them well feed which is not a problem in a seahorse aquarium that is being feed a lot. If underfed they may pick at small invertebrates such as small hermit crabs. This is a great species if you are looking for something unique and different. They are known for eating undesirable flatworms, fire worm and pyramidillid snails. We are feeding them a variety of TDO pellets, PE Pellets, frozen Mysis shrimp, frozen Calanus, LRS frozen nano blend and a variety of other foods at our farm. These must have a sand-bed.

Our Aquarium Conditioned fish are quarantined and observed at our aquaculture facility before offered for sale. We prophylactically deworm all our fish as well as run an anti-parasitic treatment on all of our fish.  

We recommend a 50 gallon minimum aquarium size for a yellow wrasse. Multiples of this species can be housed together if introduced to the aquarium at the same time.

We recommend housing this species singly or as a bonded pair. They are peaceful fish and friendly to keep with our captive bred seahorses.
