Yellow ball sponges are one of the hardier sponge varieties. This is considered an encrusting species and is bright yellow. They are filter feeding and you want to keep them completely submerged at all times. You do not want to take these out of the water. When placing them into the aquarium you will want to open the bag under water to release the sponge into the aquarium. These do best in an established aquarium. You do not want algae to grow on them so putting them in a higher flow and shaded area may be best placement. This sponge varieties is safe to keep with our captive bred seahorses.

We find Red tree sponges to be great live hitching posts with our larger species of captive bred seahorses. The seahorses love the thick branches.  We recommend moderate to higher water flow with sponges. Colors and shapes vary, they are beautiful. These are sure to add bright color to your aquarium! It is best to place them in an area algae will not grow on them with plenty of water flow.

Orange Ruffle sponges are one of the hardier sponges to keep in a home aquarium. They are filter feeding and you want to keep them completely submerged at all times. Sponges are filter feeders, and non photosynthetic. We do not recommend exposing them to air! When you receive sponges from our farm we pack them in water with no air pocket. We recommend opening the bag underwater in your aquarium to release the sponge to avoid air exposure.
