This is for a single one of our Piebald captive bred Dwarf seahorses, Hippocampus zosterae.
Please Note: Seahorse color is not fixed and all seahorses can change color based on surroundings, lighting, mood and many other factors. Cirri is not a fixed feature and may come and go. Piebald seahorses can change color like all other seahorses. This is not always a fixed trait but very uncommon. The amount of Piebald pattern and colors/patterns vary for individuals. This is not a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get item).
If you have a preference on sexes you can add a note to your order when checking out and we will try our best. Otherwise we try to send mix sexes. Some individuals will be old enough for us to sex and others are not quite old enough.
We are extremely excited to offer our new captive bred Dwarf seahorses!
Species: Hippocampus zosterae
Our new Dwarf seahorses are 100% captive bred and raised at our farm in Maryland. They are approximately 3/4-1 inch in size and will reach 1-1.5 inches with maturity.
Feeding-Very Important! Please Read!
Dwarf seahorses, unlike our other captive bred seahorse varieties, eat live artemia nauplii (baby brine shrimp) and need to be fed ~2-3 times daily. Please see our Article below for information on hatching baby brine shrimp if you are not already familiar.
Dwarf seahorses can be stocked at about 10-12 seahorses per gallon. Lower stocking densities are fine too. We recommend a 3-10 gallon aquarium size for Dwarf seahorses. We highly recommend keeping your aquarium temperature at 70-74 F. For more information on setting up an aquarium for your Dwarf seahorses check out the article below "Dwarf Seahorses-Setting up a Proper Aquarium".

Color and markings vary. Cirri may be seen in some individuals and can come and go. Color is not fixed in any seahorse species and changes based on mood, surrounding, diet, lighting and many other factors.
