Some clownfish species such as Ocellaris will host this anemone species in the home aquarium. It can take time for the clownfish to host an anemone in the aquarium.

The Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is one of the most common species kept in the marine hobby worldwide. These clownfish are often confused with a closely related cousin called the Percula clownfish (Amphiprion percula). For this reason, another common name for them is False Percula clownfish. Our ocellaris clownfish are the classically colored with orange bodies with black outlined white stripes.

All of our clownfish are U.S. captive bred and held at our farm before being shipped out. We are feeding them a mix of TDO pellets (available on our website, TDO XS), PE Mysis pellets, and a mix of frozen foods including Mysis shrimp. Given proper conditions, clownfish are one of the hardiest saltwater fish to keep in aquariums.

Important Placement Information

It is recommended to place Bubble Tip Anemones onto the rockwork. You may need to use gloves to hold the anemone in place on the rockwork to allow it to start to attach itself. This is important as you do not want it to go loose and possibly get stuck in the aquarium filtration or a powerhead as this could harm your anemone and aquarium tank mates. Anemones can move and detach themselves so having a proper setup to avoid issues when this occurs is recommended. Gloves are recommended when handling anemones for placement or cleaning the aquarium as they can sting you.

We recommend feeding anemones at least 2-3 times a week by target feeding them meaty foods such as Mysis shrimp and/or LRS Fish Frenzy Blend.

For our customers keeping seahorses, anemones are not safe tank mates with seahorses.
