This is for a single Aquarium Conditioned Longhorn Cowfish- Lactoria cornuta.
Size: ~2-3 inches. Will reach ~4-12+ inches with maturity.
The Longhorn Cowfish (Lactoria cornuta) is one of the most colorful cowfish species in the oceans. These cowfish are found in the Indo-Pacific and are actually quite commonly seen in the hobby. These fish have quite the appetite. We are feeding them frozen Mysis shrimp and other prepared foods here. These do best when fed often. Cowfish are generally considered reef safe but may nibble at some corals, decorative tubeworms (such as Feather Dusters), especially if not fed enough.
We recommend a 50 gallon tank or larger to house a single Longhorn Cowfish. A larger aquarium is recommend when this species reaches a larger full adult size such as a 150+ gallon aquariu.
They are a generally peaceful fish and possible to keep with our larger seahorse species (not Dwarf seahorses) at a younger age like these. When they grow they may be rehoused to a non seahorse aquarium or this is a great species for our customers not keeping seahorses. Of course, keep an eye on them for signs of aggression with other tank mates. If you are a cautious keeper with your tank mate selection with your seahorses this may not be the tank mate choice for you.
